Years of persistent hardwork paid off when I was selected for the Hong Kong Under 19 Cricket Team to represent Hong Kong at the Under 19 Cricket World Cup Qualifiers, held in Oman. As a legspinning allrounder, I took 4 international wickets against top Asian Teams including Qatar, Thailand, and Singapore.

My dream of playing international cricket for Hong Kong brought goosebumps to my skin, as I recalled the little me thrilled by reading Sachin Tendulkar's autobiography, as the legend of cricket spoke about his dedication and persistence in his path to representing India internationally.

Those small bits of chipped wall in my house from practicing catching and bowling were all worth it, as those chips of paint were not lost, but rather in my journey.

Eat Cricket. Sleep Cricket. Live Cricket. I was finally able to live the poster my mother made for my 10th birthday party stuck firmly on my wall.

A dream come true for any young Indian boy living in Hong Kong. How could this get any better?

Well, we won second place in the qualifier and qualified to the Division 1 ICC World Cup Qualifiers
